Artist: Richard Barrow | Location: Nashville, TN
Nashville, TN
Nashville, TN photographer, Richard Barrow, was born in 1964 and grew up just east of Houston, TX. He spent the past 25 years capturing musical performances as a recording engineer, working with many artists including Darius Rucker, Alison Krauss, and Brad Paisley. In 2012, he expanded his interests to include nature photography. His lifelong love of nature made capturing her magical performances a logical progression from his work of the past two decades. Since then, he spends much of his time photographing Nashville’s Greenways, Tennessee’s State and National Parks, and many sights in the Charleston, South Carolina area and Texas Gulf Coast. As with audio recording, Barrow is a self-taught photographer who continually studies the works of 19th century landscape painters in combination with mid-20th century photographers. His juried exhibitions include 2014 Natural Work at The Center for Fine Arts Photography in Fort Collins, CO (2014) and the 52nd Annual National Exhibition at the Beaumont Art League in Beaumont, TX (2014).
