Artist Statement

Houses hold memories of those that have lived in them.They represent a safe haven, high above the outside world where the occupants are sheltered from the elements. Sometimes the occupants take different paths that lead them from the home, abandoning it and the memories that it holds. Yet the home still stands, waiting for the next person that needs them.

Artist Biography

Vickie Bradshaw

Cosby, TN

I graduated from Memphis College of Art in 1984 with a BFA in photography. I have always been a maker and have enjoyed many different mediums of art though out the years. In 2006 I started working at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in my hometown of Gatlinburg,Tn. While here at Arrowmont I have done many different jobs, including Community Class instructor. My current art work concentrates on mixed media, specifically metals and encaustics.
