This watercolor painting is an image of my grand daughter who is 11 years old. I portray her rising up from the water as she emerges into the world of unknown opportunities and anticipation. Her strength of character and resilience to the world that surrounds her is represented by the water creating a circular movement of armor to protect her. I was excited with the challenges of capturing water at a “moment in time”standing still. “It begins as a simple piece of paper, it ends as an expression of my very existence”.
