Johannemann has a lifelong fascination with light and color. Having originally begun his career in photography, he presently explores the interplay of light and shadow, color, and line through his art glass. Johannemann’s artwork seeks to challenge assumptions, frequently exploring the philosophical boundaries of beliefs, values, and knowledge. His artwork combines a love of photography, woodworking, and glass in a manner that conveys a sense of motion and depth
Johannemann is an award-winning artist who was recognized by the Kentucky Arts Council as one of four emerging Kentucky artists this year in 2022. In 2021 he was chosen as Male Emerging Artist of the Year at Art Comes Alive. Johannemann was one of nineteen artists from across the Commonwealth of Kentucky selected in 2020, for Kentucky Crafted, the Kentucky Arts Council’s adjudicated program that recognizes Kentucky visual and craft artists.
