I have become the "Amazing, Aging, Single, Woman Artist" of my recent writings...finding my voice, following a trail to find memories that come from events in my life which become the subjects of my art and musings. Viewers often remark that they feel a kinship with me; identifying with the images, thoughts and experiences I share. Because each of us experiences or perceives the world with our own set of reactions, needs, and desires it stands to reason that the representation of my inner world is unique while always attempting to find a common ground with others. The shaping of any person is left in the hands of many people; some well intentioned, some not. It has become my job to sort...picking through, casting away and holding close those influences that have shaped me. With each work of art and bit of written word I present what I have gleaned from all the sorting. I do hope that each viewer will find some connection, enjoyment and personal meaning in my words and art.
