Ian J. Welch is a artist, educator and printmaker living in Hampton County, South Carolina. Welch received his Master of Fine Arts degree from Northern Illinois University with a focus in Printmaking in 2016 and his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green State University in 2011.
Welch has had work featured in multiple exhibitions throughout the US including The International Print Center of New York, Print Austin, The 701 CAA South Carolina Biennial, and Artfields SC, along with curating multiple exhibitions throughout Ohio and the SC Lowcountry.
Welch is currently the Visual Art teacher at Hampton Elementary School and Fennell Elementary School in Hampton County, SC, having previously worked as Assistant Professor of Art and Curator II of the FAB Gallery at South Carolina State University. Welch is the owner/printer at Pegboard Press printmaking studio in Hampton, SC and serves on the Advisory Board for the Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage in Ridgeland, SC.
