This drawing captures the feeling of impatience I experience every year in anticipation of a traditional family trip to the beach. The hourglass features a tiny figure representative of myself in the top portion, where I am waiting for the sands of time to bring me closer to my time at the beach. The use of both graphite pencils and water-soluble graphite sticks allowed me to create the contrast surrounding the figure and the beach, along with the juxtaposed hourglass upon the calendar.
