This piece is my first pursuit towards the idea of using cannibalism as a metaphor for the effects of the Industrial Revolution. It expresses the inhumanity the wealth gap creates. A figure so distant and out of touch has the power to do so. He can consume another human without remorse. The victim, with their lack of financial power can do nothing to resist. They must give themself over to exploitation––what other choice do they have?
