I was inspired by "The Creation of Adam" by Michelangelo, but I also wanted to incorporate pattern and design. The hands were left in shades of grey while the background has many differing colors to show that there was no color before the shock of the hands' touch. I wanted the explosion or flames of colors and patterns to really look like it was spreading from the touch of the fingertips outward to the world.
