My artwork is a self portrait, painted mostly in acrylic paint. It represents how easy it is to hide behind a smile, and makeup, and just keep all your emotions bottled up inside. I really wanted my artwork to showcase how easy it is to look happy and convince yourself you are happy, even though all your emotions will have to come out at some point. My inspiration for this artwork was just the stress of everyday life being represented through art. I think this is very relatable as a kid growing up in this modern and rapidly changing world. The painted black newspaper strips represent the sadness peeking through the skin, and how if you do bottle up your emotions at some point there gonna break free.
