After painting a detailed Niagara Falls, I needed inspiration from a subject I had never approached. Having painted ducks, fish, other animals, and many landscapes, my options were quite open. When introduced to flowers, I absolutely loved my potential to create a masterpiece. This waterlily specifically stood out to me because I loved the detailed petals and its packed, vibrant center. This painting is also quite special because it stands as a transition piece, reflecting my growth as an artist. Many peers and teachers watched my progress throughout the past year on it, which solidified my confidence. Consequently, this painting is my overall favorite work I've produced, covering after-school art class ground from first grade into my senior year of high school with the same art instructor. That’s saying a lot! From day one of choosing my canvas size to sketching the waterlily offcenter, I connected with this piece. Naturally, that propelled my motivation to work hard until I finished.
