“Shame” is a piece that expresses my view of the emotion. When you feel ashamed of yourself, you want to hide yourself. All your thoughts are consumed by this shame and all you want to do is destroy yourself. You think of tearing yourself in pieces rather than having others witness your greatest weakness. These thoughts are represented by the golden flame in his head, which begins to destroy him before his very own eyes. He feels disconnected to himself and helpless to stop what is already happening. He tries to save himself by putting out his hand but he slips through his fingers as he is no longer in control. He has put himself in a box and is unable to control his destruction, which destroys him further.
