For this piece, I was inspired by the disorder of anxiety, and really tried to show a visual representation of how scary, overwhelming, and intense the unknown can be. It is titled "I Shall Not Speak of the Things I've Seen." I used pens, and felt that the stippling style would best express the feeling of this work. Through the high contrast and split between darkness and light, this piece symbolizes an internal conflict and shift in emotion. The expression shown upon the woman's face with her hands covering her mouth, is as if she is shocked or can't speak. Reflecting on how anxiety can make you feel silenced. Her eyes and the slight furrow of her brows create a sense of alertness and fear.
