Universally, teenagers struggle with self expression as we struggle to understand who we are. This piece illustrates the multitude of stories, characteristics, likes, and values that have helped shape me into the person that I am today. I utilized the mixture of blacks, whites, and colors to express the differing pieces of myself and the fluctuation of emotions I experience and struggle with daily. Everything within the drawing is of value to me, such as the cross expressing my Christian religion, the jet and Air Force symbol a tribute to my military upbringing, the book my love for literature, the Eiffel Tower and Big Ben a representation of some of my favorite places to travel, and the incorporated animals a symbol of my love for all creatures real and mythical. The mountains represent a teenagers continual climb of self discovery, and the sunset the glimmer of hope we all carry with us through life.
