I created this piece of art for my sustained investigation in AP 2-D Art and Design. I am researching the mistreatment and mislabeling of many animals. I volunteer at a dog rescue and often see how animals are labeled "bad" but have a product of their environment. I have a special heart for pit bulls. I chose a pit bull image from one of the dogs at the rescue. I used broken shapes/lines to show his brokenness but bright colors as "hope" for a future family. I used torn encyclopedia pages about dog abuse and newspaper articles to tie in my unified theme of dog abuse/neglect.
