The inspiration for my art piece came from an eagle because they are my favorite birds. I wanted to challenge myself because I rarely draw birds so it was great practice to draw feathers. I decided to add a special touch to the eagle by drawing lake scenery with a mountain, waterfall, and tree inside of its eye. The eye reminds me of being out on the lake watching the scenery around me, and I would love to see the eagles fly by above. The materials I have used in my artwork were mostly by spreading graphite powder with my blending stumps in order to color the eagle on the large paper, but I also utilized graphite pencils to fill in the smaller details. With the eagle’s eye, I used colored pencils because my purpose was for the eye to catch the viewer’s attention.
