Becoming an adult is a surreal thing. One second you’re considered a child, the next, you’re suddenly an adult. Many teenagers dread becoming an adult, while some are excited about the future of adulthood. Turning 18 was very bittersweet for me. I felt very unsure of my future, yet very excited. Everyone handles change differently and can have the feeling that are bittersweet. This feeling often comes when something ends in life that is generally happy but finally comes to an end. Even though it may seem as if everything has changed, you are still the same person. The feeling of wanting to be a child forever, while still anticipating adulthood is very normal when you turn 18. Your feelings are valid and it's okay to be unsure of the future.
