Clementine’s favorite animal is a bunny. I was in love with her. To me, it was a peculiar, intense friendship. In my mind, it was simply a very close friendship. After our friendship ended, I realized maybe it was something more for me. She was the kindest, most genuine, and most intelligent person I'd ever met. Her soul was like sunshine. She was full of grace and loveliness. It was an immature love, almost obsession. She was on a pedestal in my mind. While I treasured her, my ego was insanely jealous of her. I hated that I was like that. She was my best friend and I celebrated with her when good things happened. Cheering, clapping, and smiling because she deserved everything good that happened to her. Yet, some horrible, ugly part of me wished that I was being adored. I realize now that that is not love. Love is real and selfless. Love is celebrating more than your own accomplishments. Real relationships don’t have room for vanity and I wish I had the courage to tell her that.
