Turtles are often used to symbolize patience, wisdom, and health despite having been on the potential extinction list for a good amount of time. The inspiration behind this piece was to encapsulate the current world crisis while still keeping the focus on the brilliant creature that is a sea turtle. More often than not, warm tones are used to express danger along with heat and warmth. As the global temperature rises, the turtle becomes increasingly more endangered because of habitat loss and damage, poaching for ancient medicinal remedies or just plain "fun".
