My name is Isabella Broussard, I’m 18 and a senior at St. James High school. At this point in my life, I have not been quite sure what I really wanted to do. Like most young minds, I always said, “I have plenty of time to decide”, well time is up and the choice became obvious. I had stuck with art all through my life. It constantly supported and encouraged me to work harder and achieve what I knew I could do. How could I not honor what has kept me afloat for so many years? I am embracing my love for the arts and how it has defined me as a person. I believe that without art I wouldn’t have made the accomplishments that I am so proud of today. With art, I have found my closest friends, surrounded myself in a loving and supportive environment, and expressed both creative and logical approaches to problems. Through the carefree and limitless expression of art, I pride myself on being a strong and aware young woman who is capable of fighting for what is right. As I reflect on my past creations, I am reminded that I chose to work with intention. Freedom of expression has taught me to be confident in my beliefs. I have learned many valuable lessons so far and I know I am bound to learn more, but art will always be my backbone and will continue to inspire me forever
