My painting, Ode to Monet, started as a simple palette knife painting. It took form with every stroke of the palette knife. After painting the blues and greens, I was reminded of the artist Claude Monet. I smeared paint, blending the colors to depict the sun shining on the water. I added the lily pads as a way to pay homage to the painter.
