I was inspired to create this piece of tied-up shrimp boats on the waterfront of my hometown, Beaufort, South Carolina. I was captivated by the reflection of the boat in the water. It reminded me of a watercolor painting. I used watercolors to realistically capture one of the boats tied up to the dock. Experimenting with layering watercolor technique allowed me to depict depth and perspective.
