When I created this peace, I wanted to make something that stood out and could be displayed anywhere. I precisely measured each shaped cutout to make sure it was evenly proportioned, which allows the light to shine out perfectly. The rectangular cutouts make the lantern unique and stand out from most. I went with a white glaze because it was a neutral color that could be displayed with anything, anywhere. The rope at the top, which is used for the handle, gives it a rustic feel. My overall vision of this project came to life exactly as I had imagined and hoped.
