For this art piece, I wanted to experiment with new art mediums. I enjoy trying out different mediums that I am not familiar with, and this art piece is a good example of that. This was my first time using colored pencils in a large scale, and on black paper. I wanted to showcase my love for nature, and for African animals, as I have family from South Africa, and have been many times to visit them. I drew the giraffe, made up of branches, to symbolize animals' unity with their environments. This art piece shows many art elements including symbolism, unity, and design.
