Julia Saleeby

My name is Julia Saleeby, and I am a Junior in the Advanced Art Major at the Academy for the Arts, Science, and Technology located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. My journey as an artist began at a very young age. From the second I was able to pick up a pencil, I knew art was my passion. As I grew as an artist I started to have a more cartoonish style, inspired by the Disney movies I would watch growing up, and the mangas I would read. With this I started to obtain a more manga based style as I aged. Animation then came into play within my life. I adore seeing my creations come to life. As I became a teen I also started to enjoy making a comic series about several of my characters and their stories that I had created throughout my life. I have had the great opportunity to participate in SCISA art competitions, and place in these competitions as well. With these titles I applied for the Academy for the Arts, Science, and technology. Within my time at the Academy, I look to grow my skills within my style while also learning new techniques, and creating my best potential works. My works have not only been heavily inspired by comics and manga series and animated movies, but also finding interest in the world around me filled with nature and animals. I strive to grow as an artist, and achieve my dream of one day becoming a famous animator and comic book artist.
