I wanted to demonstrate the act of romantic love during an alien invasion with storytelling and meaningful symbolism. I used acrylic paint, keeping a strict color palette of green, pink, and white to make sure the painting comes together thought the entire canvas. In the process of making this piece, I thought about ways to portray trust, touch, and desire, all things commonly invoked in a romantic relationship, solely through the pink lover. For the green lover a feeling of distrust and deception takes place as their mind is stolen by an alien. I want viewers to really look close at the small individual details as every stroke made symbolizes one's love and humanity.
