Makenzie Dobbins

My name is Makenzie Dobbins, and I am a junior at Clinton High School in South Carolina. I am 17 years old, and I grew up in southern Georgia then moved around the states when I turned 11. Throughout my life, art has been one of my escapes from whatever hardships I have faced. Art has allowed me to communicate and connect with people in ways I lacked. I have always had a difficult time understanding people and how they work, but I do understand art. The lines, shapes, colors, depth, and texture, convey a message of passion that I can actually understand and convey to others. My mother told me I have been drawing since age 7, and I have not stopped since. After I graduate high school I plan on attending John Jay Criminal Justice College and pursue the required degrees in order to become a Forensic Scientist. My other hobbies are sewing, playing various instruments, such as guitar and piano,ceramics, singing, writing, volunteering, and taking care of my various plants and my bearded dragon, Bowie. I do enjoy these other hobbies, but art to me is different.
