Azaria Richardson

My name is Azaria Richardson and I am a senior at the Charleston School of The Arts. I've been doing art for 10 years and have known I wanted to be an artist since the 3rd grade when I won 3rd place at the South Carolina State Fair. This year, 2025, I won 1st place, and in 2024 I won second place. My portfolio entry won an honorable mention while two of my paintings won gold and silver keys in the Scholastic Arts and Writing awards. My work has been exhibited in multiple locations in the Charleston area and I have done many commissioned portraits. In 2024 I was part of a solo exhibition at the Avery Research Center downtown as part of the Black History Month celebration. I have also done live paintings with a model on stage at school and completed the portrait in ten minutes both at my school and for a Kwanzaa event.
