For my artwork, I painted a Lionfish based on a picture I took at the Riverbanks Zoo.l like how interesting the patterns throughout the picture looked, in the actual fish and the rusty background the fish was living in. I used a sponge to create texture in the background and a white gel pen to make the fish stand out. l also wanted to emphasize the textures in the scales and fins with colored pencils. I liked the idea of painting a lionfish because of how gentle and majestic they look in the water, which contrasts with how dangerous they actually are.
