Artist Statement

To me, face jugs are a way of showing expression and emotion. I wanted to create something unusual and different, so painting a face with patches and unusual adjectives to describe something funky is perfect. This face jug is full of imagination and was fun to create. I created this face jug to show that it's okay to be perfectly wonky.

My name is Samantha Maleckar, but you can call me Samie. I am 14 years old and live in Florence, SC. I have learned to love all different art forms, whether drawing, painting, writing, or pottery.
