This piece is a self-portrait of me in my father's car. I've always felt the world's lack of vibrancy and color to be depressing. While people often say children see the world more brightly, I've always felt a stronger connection to my inner child, possibly because I was treated so differently. That's why I want to live with that childlike spirit in mind, offering her a better life. I aim to see the world with the same vibrancy I felt as a child and to express that in my work. This piece blends an adult activity--driving--with a child's mindset, showing that we don't need to lose our inner child as we grow up. Even as adults, we can still maintain wonder, adventure, and love. I believe if more people embraced their inner child, the world would be a more loving place. Holding onto youthful energy, even in adulthood, is not something to fear. This piece serves as a reminder that we can carry the vibrancy of childhood with us throughout the most mundane and adult parts of life.
