The inspiration for this work was a photo that I took of myself using different lighting gels. It was created with oil pastels and was actually one of my first pieces using oil pastels and my first self portrait in general. There isn't a lot of meaning behind this piece other than trying to be creative with the colors of the lighting and how to create the effects of the lighting, the lights and shadows in my drawing to make it look realistic.
