Waylon. Waylon was family. People make relationships with their pets, they treat them like family. That's what Waylon was to me. I created this art piece as a dedication to my cat, Waylon. He passed away mid-way into 2024. I was at church when I found out. My mom called and texted. The text said, "Please call me, we need to talk." I didn't have my phone on when she called. I called back and she was crying... She said, "Honey I'm sorry, Waylons gone." I didn't comprehend what she said till about a few seconds later. I didn't know what to say, so I just cried. Later on when we were introduced to this project I immediately knew I wanted to do something for him. In an attempt to heal from his loss and honor his memory, I created this piece called "Waylon". In memory of him.
