Artist Statement

This artwork is the first piece for my 8th grade year and was a grid drawing. I got the reference photo for this artwork while in my chorus room. The drawing is of a Disney award won in years prior. I chose to draw this trophy because of the different angles and reflections coming from the metallic surface.

My name is Laurel Smith and I am in 8th grade at RP Dawkins Middle School. I’ve been in art visions since 4th grade and I'm in the honor band and honor choir for my school. I am the youngest child of 4 and the only girl. I also have 2 dogs and 3 cats.
