This work, on the surface level, depicts the overwhelming amount of medication I take as a chronically ill person. In a more metaphorical sense, it represents feeling trapped and controlled by conditions and illnesses that I have no control over, and reflects on these feelings. I have missed various experiences and opportunities because my chronic illness has a tendency to limit my abilities.This is also represented by the figure trapped inside of the pill bottle. I had been collecting pill wrappers and stuffing them into an empty pill bottle just to show myself how much medicine I was going through on a regular basis, and those leftover bottles and wrappers led to the creation of this piece.
