This piece explores entrapment within a relationship. The many hands portray force, by both the pictured person and the other party, to stay in the relationship while they may as well be the reason to leave. My piece specifically revolves around the consequences of an imbalance in effort and the consequences resulting from the initial desire for preservation and the simultaneous contrasting experience of emotional reclusion. These emotions were shown symbolically with different dynamic hand poses to express personal hardships in emotional attachments. This piece was meticulously drawn by referencing photos of my own hands in a desperate position to convey the message of "hanging on". These hands are grasping the back of a person, leaving indents on their skin, much like a relationship can change one's outlook.
