Photography has always been an escape for me. With heavy involvement in sports, DECA, Mock Trial, academics, and serving as a lead editor of my school's yearbook, life can feel fast paced and demanding. Photography allows me to slow down and notice the world around me. I am especially drawn to nature photography because I find beauty in places others may overlook. I live on the Waccamaw River and feel fortunate to experience moments like this sunset firsthand. This photograph is special to me because it reflects why I love where I live and why I find so much meaning in my surroundings. The reflections on the river's black water are particularly important. While black water is often seen as unattractive, I find it beautiful for the way it captures light and color so clearly. This image represents my ability to find beauty in quiet moments and hold onto them.
