This artwork depicts a goldfish asphyxiating on plastic soda can rings as a girl suffocates from the air of a nuclear power plant that is in the distance. The placement of the upside-down fish and hands crossed over her chest represent death. I experimented with bright colors to add to the idea that this depiction is not in the distance but in the incoming future. I intend for this painting to evoke the feeling that ocean life are not the only ones choking from pollution, but also us.
