"Bloom" was inspired by the evolution of growth through time. The coil pot is supposed to be an exploration of how, as things grow, they change and move, becoming something new. Surfaces extrude and merge together as they trail up the vessel to express movement and transitional phases. Colors were chosen based on how well they can blend and interact with each other. The distinct layers of color are to emphasize the periods of change, while the blended areas distinguish where surfaces come together. Together, the piece works as a tool to reflect on how in life, people change and evolve.
