"In Chains" is a piece done with oil paint. The concept is based on the feeling of being trapped or constricted. The three pieces tell a story of someone who, despite having money and riches, feels confined and unable to live freely. For the pieces on the left and in the middle, the subject is visibly uncomfortable, however in the piece on the right, she feels unlimited and free from the weights of restriction. I chose to mark this shift in the transition from gold to silver jewelry. The change in color represents the change to feeling free. This is shown in the jewelry in the background, the rings, and the bracelets. In addition, I also included a 3-D element in the physical chains on the pieces, representing the theme of confinement. The obstacle in question is open to the viewer's interpretation. Whatever resonates most can be connected to the piece.
