When I saw this photo of myself taken from inside a restaurant window, I was surprised at how huge my arm and hand looked trying to catch the little Green Anole lizard. It made me think about how the lizard felt seeing me. I have caught and released many lizards, but I didn't catch this one. The instant before the photo was taken, the lizard spotted me with his special sight and motion detection skills, and leapt into the bushes. I wanted to try a new kind of art, mixing an enlarged photo, paint, and air-dry clay sculpture. I attached my sculpted lizard to the inside of the glass, and left space between it and the painting to look 3-D. I hope people at ArtFields feel like they are looking at this moment through the lizard's eyes. Live long and free, little lizard! I left my face and arm unpainted to stay realistic.
