"Lifelines" is a representation of who I am, where I come from, and my connection to my family. On the top left are my parents. They are the most important influences on who I am today. I have always been close with both of them through different connections. For my dad, it's our connection to sports and time spent together. For my mom, it's art and our mutual understanding of each other. On the bottom left is my brother and me playing chess. He'd just gotten off his welding shift and decided to stop by our house. He chose to play chess with me that night because he knew how much I enjoyed it. Tiny compassionate actions like these are common from him and the rest of my family. It's what makes us close and what fuels me to be a better person. Lastly, on the right side is a self-portrait. My family makes up who I am but I also get to be my own person, and so the entire piece is done in green, my favorite color. This represents my perspective on the world, and who I am because of others.
