Growing up I began developing and printing my own photographs at the age of 11, with the assistance of an enlarger which was commandeered from a neighbor’s trash can. After college I continued to develop my skills through workshops and an emphasis on street photography–which was often paired with restlessness and frequent travel.
My photography today is entirely digital, working mainly with a medium format Hasselblad H4D on subject matter reflecting a broad array of interests.
My recently completed project is Absentee Portraiture: Abandoned Farms of North Dakota, a narrative of lives and loss among the northern great plains.
My breadth of previous careers–in finance, software engineering, direct marketing, and international banking consultancy– peak to an appetite for learning, and tackling new things.
My wife and I live on a Florida barrier island, attracted by the natural surroundings and the constant reminder of earth’s fragility, diversity and vibrance.
