Artist: H. Grace Boyle | Location: New Orleans, LA
New Orleans, LA
Grace was born in New Orleans at 4:08 am on a Tuesday. At an early age, Grace showed an affinity for making things. In her early twenties, she taught herself to carve marble, and so began her love affair with stone. After flirting with science and earning a degree in chemistry, Grace returned to art. In more recent years, she has experimented with other media, including paper, ceramic, aluminum, and cement, to name a few. Her body of work ranges from table top sized marble carvings to large scale sculptures like the Kenner Farmer, a nine foot cement figure and Running by the Lake, in the Sun, a glass and aluminum sculpture, both in the Power Blvd. sculpture collection in Kenner, LA.
In addition to studying at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Art, she is enrolled at the University of New Orleans in the MFA program in studio art. She lives and works in the New Orleans metro area.
