I’ve been researching photo images from the early days of photography when it first became a widely available tool for documenting what humans look like in the moment. Our collective aesthetic has changed many times since then. Different clothing, hair, preferred facial expressions etc. I like the idea of creating an image that looks like it could have happened today no matter what era it might be from. Most of my work has been exploring that idea while navigating the area between realism and abstraction using the figure as a starting point.
