Fanjoy + Labrenz are collaborative artists. Sally Fanjoy studied at the International Center for Photography in New York City, James Labrenz is an autodicact.
Fanjoy + Labrenz's work has been featured in the Hickory Museum of Art, Lenoir-Rhyne University, the North Carolina Museum of Art, Baboo Gallery NYC and the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
They were selected for the 2023 North Carolina Artists Exhibit at the Center for Contemporary Art in Raleigh, North Carolina and the Charlotte-based ArtPop Class of 2023.
The project Light in Space was granted an Artist Support Grant from the United Arts Council of Catawba County for 2023.
The couple led an 8 month gallery project with the Hickory Museum of Art and Corning Optical Solutions titled - Seeing Light, How Creativity Happens? (April-November 2019) culminating in a final installation.
The result of this project was published in the Yearbook of the Moving Image. Augmented Images: Trilogy of Synthetic Realities II.
