Athens, GA artist Margaret Agner received her BFA in painting at LSU in 1974, and learned fabric dyeing and surface design through books, seminars, and workshops. She now teaches silk painting workshops and produces silk banners, wearables, and art quilts in addition to paintings and pastels. The artist grew up on a dairy farm in Ohio.
Memberships: Piedmont Craftsmen, Inc., Athens Art Association, Athens Fibercraft Guild, Athens Plein Air Painters, SEFAA, American Crafts Council, and Silk Painters International (first prize, 2014 conference). She was a featured artist at Piedmont Craftsmen Inc., Winston-Salem, NC in 2007, 2013, and 2019. Her most recent one-woman exhibit: GA State Botanical Garden Oct 2023.
