Kenish Harmon (formally known as Magwood) is an ambivert who prefers her art to speak for her (though she has no problem speaking for herself). A little quirky, she aims to address identity, diversity, and controversy with vibrant artistry and open-dialogue. Kenish strives to use the many gifts God has given her to promote change, initiate conversation, and ultimately, to please Him.
She was born in Stuttgart, Germany to military parents. She is the youngest of three. She holds a BA in Studio Art from Claflin University and an MFA in Fine Art from Howard University. She taught art at Baptist Hill Middle/High School in Charleston, SC for 3 years. She then taught for another 4 years as an art professor at Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD. She currently lives in her hometown of Charleston, SC with her husband, Jay Harmon III.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking, video games, pole fitness, reading & audio books, writing, making comics and relaxing with her friends and family.
