Sara Simmons has been creating artwork since early childhood, and has followed that passion as an adult. She earned a degree in Painting from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2009, and works primarily in acrylic paint on canvas or wood panel in highly detailed and richly colorful pieces. Her work explores themes of connection and finding beauty in the ordinary.
In 2021, Sara was selected as an ArtPop Street Gallery artist, which allowed her to share her work across the globe, including on billboards and digital displays throughout Charlotte, the United States, and the Philippines. She also showcased her work at the Immersive Van Gogh Charlotte exhibition in 2021, the Charlotte International Arts Festival in 2022, and has participated in numerous juried exhibitions locally, regionally, and nationally.
