The contemporary art of Susan J Lapham has been described as a lively dance between steady geometry and sparkling movement. Her award-winning work has been exhibited in Quilt National, Visions Museum of Textile Art, Form Not Function, Art Quilt Elements, Quilts=Art=Quilts and ArtFields 2023. Born in Jerusalem, Lapham lived in the Middle East and North Africa for the first 12 years of her life. She received degrees in Cartography and Statistics and has worked as a mapmaker, statistician, and senior executive for nearly 40 years. She recently retired as Director of a sixty-year longitudinal study of human development and aging. Exercising her right brain, she spends her time outside work creating fine art from fabric.
